Julia McLaughlin - Director

BS in Education, MA

I am truly blessed to be the Director of Abiding Presence Preschool. I previously taught in the public school system for 11 years, as well as worked in the preschool setting both as a teacher and Director. God lead me here, to Abiding Presence in July of 2018. My passion for educating children in the presence of God finally found a home! I am committed to providing a safe, happy, faith-filled and nurturing educational environment for our students. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow and learn new skills and concepts before your eyes!

While as educators, it is our job to facilitate learning through experimentation so that our students can learn, we learn just as much from them!

Jaclyn Fantozzi-Howland - Teacher

I graduated from Quinnipiac University’s Masters of Arts in Teaching Program with a dual certification in Birth-2 and Elementary Education 1-6. I have been teaching three year olds for six years. It is a joy to teach them! I love to spend time with my family. In my free time, I like to play tennis, read and go to the beach. I am looking forward to educating and inspiring my students here at Abiding Presence Preschool this year and in years to follow!

Meredith Schulz - Teacher

I have taught many separate 2s, 3s and 4s classes at Abiding Presence Preschool. Each school year I am thrilled to witness the physical, emotional and academic growth each child experiences. I am grateful for the wonderful families I have partnered with to guide their children through this formative time. I thank them all for their help and support in creating a fun and nurturing educational environment and for many happy memories.

Sharon Desmond - Teacher Assistant

This is my 11th year at Abiding Presence Preschool! It is very special to be able to work at the preschool I attended when I was small! I married my high school sweetheart and we have a son who is 20 and a daughter who is 17. We enjoy family vacations upstate in the mountains. I love to paint, draw and take pictures of the sunset. I am so happy to utilize these skills in the classroom with my students. Throughout my time here, I have worked both as a teacher and a teacher assistant in the toddler and nursery classes. I am currently the Teacher Assistant for the Toddler classroom as well as the nursery classroom. I also work with the school age children in our After Care Program. I absolutely love my job with the children at Abiding Presence Preschool!

Lisa Pecchio - Teacher Assistant

I am delighted to be a part of the Abiding Presence Preschool team as a Teacher Assistant for the School-Age Before Care Program. I have a Liberal Arts Associates Degree from Suffolk Community College and have worked 20 plus years in a family business as Office Manager. When word went out in September of 2017 that there was a need for a Teacher Assistant for a new program at Abiding Presence Preschool, I gleefully decided to put my previous volunteer experience with children to professional use. I have always loved children, working with them as Director of the Children’s Choir, chaperoning retreats, and I especially enjoy spending time with my three nephews. I am so happy to be able to put my organizing, scheduling and crafting skills to good use here, at Abiding Presence Preschool. My most favorite part of the day is greeting each child with a smile and an invitation to participate in the day’s planned activities!

Ahna Lacey - Teacher Assistant

I flew to New York all the way from my home town, Mobile, Alabama just to follow my dream of living the Northern Life. Unbeknownst to me, I would soon achieve an even bigger dream of working with children as a Teacher Assistant! I am currently studying Early Childhood Education in college in hopes to be a Preschool teacher in the upcoming years. Being an everyday part of the lives of children is something I’ve always aspired to do. I feel God has brought me here to do just that. I’ve worked with children in the past and although I adored the children, I didn’t quite feel at home until I was called here, to Abiding Presence Preschool!

Mary Kincaid - Teacher Assistant

I am happy to be a teacher assistant at Abiding Presence Preschool. Beginning a career in education at Abiding Presence has been such a rewarding and fun experience. I am a recent graduate of Stony Brook University, where I majored in Studio Art and have plans on attending graduate school in the near future in hopes of landing a career as an art teacher.
